Library Access
The Bankier Library is a two-story facility located at the north end of Brookdale's academic complex. The Library is designed to function as both a traditional environment of quiet study space, as well as a state-of-the-art Information Commons. Open carrels, tables and chairs, and 19 quiet study rooms are available throughout the two floors. The carrels and study rooms are networked with data port and electrical outlets for portable computers.
Traditional research tools and reference materials are available at the Information Commons, as well as open computer labs for using the Internet and writing software. Electronic databases provide full-text and full-image journals, magazines and newspapers. In addition, access to each of the Communiversity member's library online services is provided. Students have the option to use the services of either the library at their "home" institution campus or Bankier Library, or they may access library services remotely. Reference Librarians and paraprofessional and technical support staffs are available to provide assistance from Monday to Saturday throughout the year at the Information Commons.
Articles and books ordered from the Communiversity member's library via interlibrary loan are delivered within a reasonable time frame directly to the Circulation Desk at the Bankier Library. Students are required to provide a valid picture ID with an active barcode in order to borrow materials.
