Thinking of a career
in Education?
Students interested in the Education Track at the Communiversity have degree options ranging from the associate to master’s level. Although graduates will be prepared to teach, there are many other career options including counseling, |
higher education administration,curriculum planning, administration, training, human services, and advocacy. Students are also prepared for graduate education including but not limited to education, counseling, psychology, or social work. |
Associate Degree
Education AA
The Education AA degree prepares students to transfer to bachelor's degrees in education and education-related fields.
(Offered by Brookdale Community College and Ocean County College)
Other transferrable associate degrees are available at BCC and OCC. The Education AA degree is the suggested degree.
Bachelor's Degree
Special Education BA
This program is currently on hold due to limited enrollment.
Once certified as an elementary teacher, students could qualify for special education certification with an additional 18 credits which could be done as part of their undergraduate, post-BA or graduate studies.
This Special Education BA provides the broad academic, cultural, and practical experience that enables students to be effective teachers for students with special needs, from nursery school through grade twelve.

Elementary Education BA
The Communiversity is excited to offer the Elementary Education Degree in the Spring 2004. Once certified as an elementary teacher, students could qualify for special education certification with an additional 18 credits which could be done as part of their undergraduate, post-BA or graduate studies. Education Administration, Supervision
and Curriculum Planning MA
This MA program is for people aspiring to become educational administrators. Upon completion of the program, graduates with three years of teaching experience are able to apply for a letter of eligibility with advanced standing as a principal or New Jersey supervisor certificate.

Graduate Certificate
P-3 Endorsement Certificate
This four-course, post-baccalaureate program is designed for certified teachers who wish to specialize in teaching children in the early childhood years. The courses can be applied toward master’s degree programs in early childhood education.
