in the Health Sciences?
Students interested in the Health Sciences Track can earn their associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees with majors in Nursing through the Communiversity. Nurses can look forward to careers in academics, cardiology, elder care, forensics, administration, home care, military, pediatrics, anesthesiology, |
mental health, obstetrics/gynecology, surgery, palliative care, oncology, pharmaceutical sales, counseling, public health, community education, quality assurance, human services, and veteran affairs to name just a few of the areas. Students are also prepared for graduate education in nursing. |
Associate Degree
Nursing AAS
This degree prepares students for first-level positions as technical nurses in hospitals or comparable healthcare facilities. Upon completion of the program, students are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensing Exam for registered nursing. Successful completion of this examination results in licensure as a Registered Nurse.

Bachelor's Degree
Nursing Major
This degree is designed specifically for registered nurses with either AAS degrees or hospital school diplomas to increase their career potential while attending classes parttime. Classes are offered on-line or in the evenings at the Western Monmouth Higher Education Center. Courses requiring laboratory facilities are offered at the Brookdale campus in Lincroft.

Post-Baccalaureate Certificate
School Nurse Certificate
This certificate program is designed for professional registered nurses who wish to be certified in school nursing in the State of New Jersey. Certification is offered as a post-baccalaureate program for registered nurses with a BA, BS, or BSN and/or as a minor for registered nurses pursuing a baccalaureate degree.

Master's Degree
Nursing Major
This program prepares students to be advanced-practice nurses, such nurse practitioners and clinical nurse specialists. The curriculum includes core coursework and seven specialty clinical concentration options. All core coursework is offered on-line. Specialty courses in the clinical concentration are offered in Newark or on-line.
