Online Courses

Distance Education is like a college without walls - it is technology at work to bring education to you when and how it fits into your busy schedule. Some of the degrees and courses offered at the Communiversity are delivered in part or entirely by distance learning technology, such as interactive television courses or online courses. Interactive TV Courses (ITV): An Interactive Television (ITV) course allows you to take a class at the Communiversity simultaneously with students at another campus. You see and hear the instructor and students at the other location on a large TV screen in your classroom. They see and hear you on a similar screen in their classroom. By using audio and video technology, you interact fully with the instructor and other students as you would in any other classroom situation.	On-line Courses: An online course is delivered on your computer via the Internet and learning is conducted at your pace and at a location of your choosing. Assignments are given online and you complete them at home, in your office, or on the road. You interact with your instructor and fellow students via e-mail and submit your work electronically. On-line Degree Program: An on-line degree program allows you to earn your entire degree through interactive TV, on-line courses, videotapes, or telecourses, and, in some cases, a combination of in-class and distance learning components. The bachelor's and master's degree programs offered through the Communiversity by NJIT can be completed partially or entirely on-line working in the convenience of your own home on your own computer.
